—The Enchanted Sea
“The Enchanted Sea” was our staple opening mood setter from Chris Rager’s first show in April 2011 to our train wreck performance at a wedding at the very end of that summer’s “Perfect Storm” tour. It is an instrumental Exotica standard originally made popular by guys like Martin Denny but this version (originally performed by 60’s brooders The Counts) takes the song into an entirely different mournful, funeral dirge direction - a mood which was timely for this performance at The Silverlake Jubilee for three reasons: 1.) It was sax God Brad Caulkins (Fool’s Gold) official last show with us. 2.) It was guitarist Brian Waters (Flash Express, Savage Gospel) UNofficial last show with us. 3.) Our set started at exactly 6pm on that Saturday May 21st - the EXACT time Baptist Bozo Harold Camping predicted that whole Rapture thing would go down. Coincidence?
